Lorna Rose-Hahn, Chair

Lorna has been a writer her whole life, but did not call herself one until she got involved with Write On The River. She has served on the Board since 2014, previously as head of promotions. She writes narrative nonfiction and poetry under the name Lorna Rose. A native of the Chicago area, Lorna and her husband have lived in Wenatchee since 2008. They have two young children. Shirley Ostenson, Treasurer

Shirley Ostenson is a retired CPA.  Shirley has had a variety of life experiences from Naval Officer’s wife living in Japan and Europe, to organic orcharding, co-managing an organic fruit packing business and is presently a partner in Double O Organics, a consulting firm.  In between these two diverse lifestyles, she worked as Controller for Selland Construction in Wenatchee and as Controller for Alcoa at its magnesium plant in Addy.

Paula Walters, Acting Secretary

Paula Walters is a retired librarian from North Central Regional Library. She was the reference librarian for many years and then the Adult Outreach Librarian, her main job being the coordinator of many book clubs. She is a board member for FIDO, Friends Improving Dogs Opportunities, a Deacon at her church and volunteers at her church library. She enjoys attending plays, the symphony, operas, and is an avid reader. She was born and raised in Seattle and has lived in Wenatchee since 1976.

Luke Ellington

Luke Ellington serves as the Bookmobile Outreach Manager for North Central Regional Library. He is a lifelong learner and enjoys reading, discussing, and writing children’s literature with his daughters.

Dan Gemeinhart

Dan Gemeinhart writes middle grade novels for children, and is a proud member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. He is the author of four middle grade books from Scholastic Press, as well as the forthcoming The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise in January 2019. Kay Kenyon

Kay Kenyon is the author of fifteen science fiction and fantasy novels. Her latest work is historical fantasy from Simon and Schuster/Saga Press: At the Table of Wolves, Serpent in the Heather and Nest of the Monarch.  She is a founding member of Write on the River and has served on its governing body since it’s inception in 2005.  She teaches a WOTR bi-weekly novel seminar held February – May. Susan Lagsdin

Susan Lagsdin helps plan and facilitate some of WOTR’s year-round community events including the adult writers competition. Retired recently from a long career teaching high school and college English, she also crafts poetry and writes feature stories for The Good Life magazine. Susan lives in East Wenatchee near the Loop Trail but also spends quality time in the Methow Valley cozying up in a 110-year-old cabin and riding her horse in the foothills of the Cascades.

Stacy Luckensmeyer

Stacy Luckensmeyer is the Business and Industry Liaison for Wenatchee Valley College and oversees the WVC Center for Entrepreneurship. She’s involved in a number of business and community projects and considers WOTR her first personal undertaking since her children decided they were grown enough to move out and pursue careers of their own.

Eldene Wall

Eldene serves as Executive Assistant/Public Relations Specialist at North Central Educational Service District in Wenatchee. She is liaison to the NCESD Educational Foundation and is editor of Teachers Make a Difference, sold to raise money for scholarships for high school graduates who want to become teachers. Eldene is co-author of several articles (with Dr. Rich McBride and Dr. Gene Sharratt) for office professionals, including At the Leading Edge of Success, Falling to the Top, and Success in Life is Not Accidental.
