August “Four Minutes of Fame” Writers Meeting Writers is Coming Up!

by admin Conference News. Posted on July 15, 2013.

Join your friends and neighbors for a lively night of reading, sharing and socializing with other local writers!  Write On The River will be holding another of our always-popular “Four Minutes of Fame” open mic reading nights Thursday, August 8 at Milepost 111 Restaurant and Brewery in Cashmere.  Socializing will start at 6:30, and the readings will begin at 7:00.

YOU and other local writers read original works.  Anyone and everyone who appreciates the literary arts enjoys well-crafted words, and meets new acquaintances.  Even if you’re not ready for a public reading, come and enjoy the writing of others…an appreciative audience is always welcome!

This event is FREE and open to the public. Come early and enjoy Milepost 111 fare. Dinner, desserts and beverages available all evening.

(407 Applets Way, Cashmere.  On the river across from Country Boys BBQ.  Take the Aplets Way exit)

 How it works:

Sign-up for a reading time (four minutes at the microphone.) Read anything — your poetry, essay, fiction, journal entry, memoir, novel excerpt–It’s casual, it’s easy, and it’s free!

This is an occasion for writers to try out a short piece — NOT a slam, critique session, performance, or competition.

Registration priority is given to WOTR members through August 1.
