Fourth Annual Writer’s Competition Closed
by admin Conference News. Posted on November 29, 2011.The deadline has now now passed for entry into Write On The River’s fourth annual Writer’s Competition. Open to any Washington resident, our Writer’s Competition featured both a Fiction and Nonfiction division, with $1,200 in prizes. Winning entries may be re-printed on our website, at our May 19, 2012 Conference, and in the Wenatchee World.
Thank you and good luck to all who entered. We look forward to announcing the winners in the months to come!

Question–is there a POETRY section in your writer’s competition ending in Feb.?
Dorothy…good question! There is no poetry division this time around; just Fiction and Nonfiction. Maybe we should think about adding Poetry next year?
Will the judging be based on age group as well? I have a 15 year old daughter that would like to enter, but I am wondering if she will be competing with adults?
Thanks for the question, Deborah. Age is not considered in the judging of this contest, but your daughter is still encouraged to enter. She can also enter in our youth-only contest: http://writeontheriver.org/conference/2012-high-school-writers-competition
