Summer Highlight: Writers Meeting Writers is Back!

by admin Conference News. Posted on July 9, 2012.

Summer is officially here and there’s no better way to beat the heat than sharing an air-conditioned evening with your fellow local writers!   Write On The River is thrilled to host another of our always-popular “Four Minutes of Fame” Writers Meeting Writers events. Come and join us to hear some great local writers share their stuff, and sign-up to step up to the mic yourself and share your words with the world.

Join us in East Wenatchee on August 16th at Upper Eastside Coffee Company.  Opens at 6:30, reading will begin at 7:00pm.  Upper Eastside Coffee Company is located at 1610 Grant Road, East Wenatchee (by Casa Tapatia, just before the intersection with Kentucky Street).

Read anything — your poetry, essay, short fiction, journal entry, memoir, novel excerpt — it’s casual, it’s easy, and it’s free. This is a fun, social way to try out your writing — NOT a slam, critique session, performance, or competition.

You’re welcome to read your own work or simply listen (and enjoy beverages and desserts or a light meal).

Reading slots are open to ALL but are scheduled in advance and are open first to Write On The River Members (find out about becoming a Member here).

WOTR members: call or email to sign up until August 10 (all others, check on open slots after that date).
