Progress Report
by Steve Writing My Own Story: The life of a writer on the journey to publish his first novel. Posted on December 10, 2011.Sometimes life is written in short chapters and sometimes life does the writing. Until my next post, here’s a snapshot of my writing life this week:
In Short – Steve’s Week:
| Writing Time | Research and related, but zero writing time. |
| Pages Written | 0 |
| Current Progress on the Novel | In Rewrite. |
| Thoughts | Forward progress and inspiration shredded by work and life events |
| Attitude | Frustrated |
| Excuses and Fears | Getting my house ready for market. Terminal care for a couple of my long-favorite patients. A bit of stress! |
| Learned This Week | A Twelve Day Plan of Simple Writing Exercises posted on the online version of Writer’s Digest. When the novel becomes drudgery, there can still be a sense of play in exercises. |
| Inspiration | Tough one this week. Not feeling very inspired or motivated. |
| Questions and Quandaries | Wherefore art thou, time to write? |
| Market Watch | I should be wandering around with a finished manuscript looking for an agent!!! |
| View from the Keyboard | Feeling bogged down and more discouraged than I have been for a long time. Part of it, I am sure, is the holidays and personal stuff…the dream still stirs my sleep. |

They have an amazing site. I erneted a flash fiction work for one of their quarterly contests. It didn’t win but I got some great feedback. I love them. Going over to check out your piece.
