Four Minutes of Fame

Once a quarter, Write On The River hosts a wonderful event we call “Four Minutes of Fame.”  These events, which are open to anyone, take place at locations around our region – from Leavenworth to Cashmere to the Methow to Wenatchee.

“Four Minutes of Fame” are open-mic nights that give local writers a chance to share a piece of writing, and to hear the writing of others.  Each reader gets a moment to introduce themselves and their writing before reading a four-minute selection.

The range of readers is wide, from professional writers to weekend bloggers, high school students to retirees.  Every genre is represented including poetry, fiction, nature essays, personal narrative and nonfiction.  The atmosphere is always warm, convivial and supportive and no one leaves without a smile on their face.  People are more than welcome to attend and enjoy the writing of others even if they won’t be reading.

“Four Minutes of Fame” is a great way to see and hear the diversity and depth of literary talent we have in North Central Washington, and a rare opportunity to rub elbows and network with like-minded individuals.

Stay tuned to our Calendar, newsletter, and Facebook page to be sure you don’t miss Write on the River’s next “Four Minutes of Fame” event.
