About Wenatchee

Wenatchee is nestled in the foothills of the Cascade mountains, at the confluence of the Wenatchee and Columbia rivers in Washington state.  Dubbed the “Apple Capital of the World,” Wenatchee is the thriving agricultural, economic and cultural heart of North Central Washington.  One of those rare places that offers acclaimed snow skiing (the U.S. Olympic team has trained at Wenatchee’s Mission Ridge Ski Resort) and water skiing (on the mighty Columbia River) within eye range of each other, Wenatchee is truly a treasure.

Home to Wenatchee Valley College, Wenatchee also hosts the annual Write on the River Writing Conference every year in May.  Drawing attendees from all over the region and world-class presenters from all over the country, Write on the River is North Central Washington’s only writing conference.
