Write on the River is dedicated to nurturing and inspiring local writers, whether in fiction, nonfiction, or poetry.  We support aims for traditional and indie publishing and local sharing of the written word. In pursuit of this mission, we offer a variety of events and programs. These include:

  • Three weekend workshops: Winter, Spring, Fall
  • Monthly membership meetings: Writers Meeting Writers
  • Four Minutes of Fame open mics
  • A novel writing seminar with Kay Kenyon – early to late spring (Must be a WOTR member)
  • Adult and High School writing competitions with cash prizes
  • An annual brunch or dinner with a well-known guest author
  • The Write On! Garden Party for WOTR members and their guests, usually September (Must be a WOTR member or accompanied by a member)
  • A four-day writing retreat in the fall or early winter

Unless stated otherwise, all programs are open to anyone in the community, though Write on the River Members may have the first opportunity to reserve a spot in programs with limited space.
